Editorial: The Dark Side
This is a personal project using the phrase “Learn something new about yourself” as an editorial brief. First, I wrote some ideas that came to mind with each word of the brief. Then I came up with 16 sketch ideas in a little sketchbook. Then I finally chose 4 to sketch digitally until I selected the best one. All sketches are shown below. When I finally chose the best idea to pursue, I moved into the steps of cleaning the initial sketch, inking, coloring, and adding light, shadow, and texture.
